** Must be within weight range for first game of the season.  Players are allowed to gain one pound per week during the season and still remain eligible to play.  There are no weight restrictions for Flag Football.

Welcome to 2014 Bethlehem Pop Warner Football

My name is George Spence and I am the 2014 VP of Football. I’d like to share some important information that will help you start planning for a successful football season. You may also want to read the 2014 BPW Membership Manual.


BPW will provide to your child a jersey, helmet, pants, and all necessary pads (tackle).  A $200 deposit check will be collected for these items ($50 for Flag Football).  This check will not be cashed and will be returned to you when the equipment is turned in at the end of the season.  BPW will also provide a mouth guard that does not get returned. Families are required to purchase black athletic socks, cleats (non-metal), and a cup.


Our season will begin on Monday, August 4th at 5:30pm at Hamagrael Elementary School.  Practices during the month of August will be held 4 nights/week, 5:30-8 pm at Hamagrael.  (Flag Football will have an abbreviated schedule).

August practices are very important. Tackle football players must have 10 hours of practice before they can put on pads and participate in contact.  All players must have 20 hours of practice before they can play in a game.

Once the school year begins, practices will be held 3 nights a week, (2-3/week for Flag) at Hamagrael. Your head coach will determine your practice schedule.


Each football team has one game per weekend.  THIS YEAR ALL FLAG AND TACKLE HOME GAMES WILL BE PLAYED AT HAMAGRAEL ELEMENTARY SCHOOL.  Away games are played at various Capital District Pop Warner (CDPW) fields.

Games begin the weekend of Sept. 6/7 (weekend after Labor Day)  and the schedule gets posted by CDPW at the end of August.  Your coach/team parent will provide you with a schedule, and it will be available on our website or at Flag has a 6-week season; Mitey Mite has an 8-week season; all other levels have an 8-week season with the possibility of playoffs.

Parents should be present for all games and are expected to volunteer at game time,  fulfilling the roles of field set-up/take-down, statistician/spotter, chains/down marker, etc.  A schedule will be created by your team parent once the game schedule is available.
